Brings RFID liquid nitrogen cryogenic labeling solution to help digital upgrade of biological sample management

Abstract: Brady China launched the RFID liquid nitrogen cryogenic labeling solution, directly addressing the pain points of the industry and providing a one-stop solution from storage to traceability for biological sample banks.

Keywords: RFID

In the field of life sciences, biobanks are “strategic resource libraries” for scientific research and medical treatment. However, the traditional liquid nitrogen storage and management model is facing severe challenges from information entry to sample customization design and managementBiobank

Repeated exposure of samples: Manual storage and access causes the cryopreservation tubes to be frequently exposed to room temperature, increasing the risk of cell ice crystal damage rate;

Low traceability efficiency: barcodes are easy to fall off, embrittled at low temperatures, and the error rate of manual recording increases;

Data siloing: sample flow information is scattered, and it is difficult to connect to the management system to achieve real-time tracking of sample inventory;

High compliance risk: lack of real-time temperature monitoring and audit tracking, it is difficult to meet international regulations such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

Solving the “information island” dilemma of liquid nitrogen storage

Digital breakthrough at -196℃

At the 17th China Integrated Biological Sample Conference in 2025, Beidi China launched the RFID liquid nitrogen low-temperature label solution, directly addressing the pain points of the industry and providing a one-stop solution from storage to traceability for biological sample libraries.

In the management of biological sample libraries, the extremely low temperature environment of liquid nitrogen storage often causes the failure of traditional identification systems: handwritten labels are easy to blur and fall off, and barcode scanning requires repeated thawing.

The RFID liquid nitrogen low-temperature label solution innovatively launched by Beidi uses cold-resistant material technology and passive sensing technology to achieve full-process digital tracking of samples from storage to call.

1 Beidi low-temperature RFID label

Beidi low-temperature RFID labels are designed for extreme environments and can operate stably for a long time in a low-temperature environment of -80°C, and can even be directly immersed in liquid nitrogen at -196°C for medium and short-term storage. By using advanced Beidi low-temperature label materials and RFID inlay composite technology, we ensure that the RFID finished label can still maintain stable performance under extreme low temperature conditions, without warping or falling off, thereby ensuring data reliability and reading accuracy.low temperatureRFID Label

2Beidi RFID printing and scanning equipment

Beidi provides high-performance RFID printers and scanners that can accurately and efficiently print text, barcodes and other information on the surface of RFID labels, and write data into RFID label chips at the same time. Whether it is a handheld RFID scanner or a fixed RFID scanning device, it can flexibly adapt to different application scenarios of manual scanning and unmanned automatic scanning, ensure the efficiency and accuracy of data entry, and meet the diverse needs of users.RFID Printer RFID Handheld Scanner

3 Beidi RFID Data Management Software

Beidi provides standard RFID data scanning and analysis supporting software to achieve intelligent tracking functions. In addition, we can also provide customized software solutions based on the actual applications and needs of users to cover various complex application scenarios in the laboratory, such as automated laboratory consumables in and out of the warehouse management, fixed asset management, sample management, equipment management and equipment positioning. Our software design strictly follows the high standards of data integrity in the biopharmaceutical industry to ensure the accuracy and traceability of all data, and help users improve management efficiency and experimental accuracy.

Beidi VHR7 handheld RFID scanner

Industrial-grade RFID reader, integrated PDA design, equipped with a 5.2-inch color screen, supports RFID reading and writing and 1D/2D code scanning. With Bluetooth and WiFi communication functions, App can be installed, compact and durable, suitable for fixed assets, warehouses, inbound and outbound management and inventory, etc., with strong endurance.

2Beidi VRP830 RFID printer

High-load industrial-grade RFID printer, can print text, barcodes, graphics on the label surface and write RFID chips simultaneously, suitable for applications of fast batch printing and writing RFID electronic tags.

Bedi’s low-temperature labeling solution also targets the problem that labels on the market are prone to warping after multiple thawing from liquid nitrogen to room temperature. The Bedi B-490 polyester low-temperature resistant label is suitable for cryopreservation tubes, cryopreservation bags and aluminum boxes. After long-term storage in liquid nitrogen (6 months to 3 years), the label has good sticking effect, remains intact when thawed to room temperature, and has excellent printing quality.

Microbiological experiments

In microbiological experiments, cells grow under controlled conditions. Depending on the cell type and culture conditions, the experimental procedures vary, involving incubators, autoclaves, freezers, liquid nitrogen and other steps. Labels used in experiments, such as labels on reagent bottles, culture dishes, test tubes, centrifuge tubes, slides and flasks, need to withstand the experimental conditions and have durability to reduce errors and improve efficiency.Cell culture bottle label
